Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. has been serving the Lakeview Area and surrounding communities for over 20 years. Our Stoneboro location was constructed in 1996 by former owners Scott and Lisa Black. In 2005 the former McMullen Funeral Home in Sandy Lake joined the Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. family. Scott and Lisa ran the funeral homes until the end of 2017. In 2018, Casey W. Rose was chosen to continue Scott and Lisa's legacy. Casey strives to exceed expectations of the families he serves to honor those they have lost. Since taking over, Casey has completely renovated the Sandy Lake location, made several updates to the Stoneboro location, and added an on-site crematory to better serve those in the Lakeview and surrounding communities.
Sometimes, it seems that the timeless tradition of neighbor helping neighbor becomes lost in daily life. But time and again, when tragedy occurs, in this community, we help our neighbors.
At the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, that philosophy serves as the basis for everything we do. Our business was founded in 1900 in Guys Mills, PA by our great-grandfather Willard Waid. In 1929, he moved the funeral home to Meadville, the home of the young Allegheny College. For over 100 years, we have been privileged to provide our community with quality end of life care. We offer our services to honor life and to comfort those who grieve. In 1998, we expanded our care to the Conneaut Lake area with the addition of Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc.
Since the first day the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home & Waid-Coleman Funeral Home offered its services to the people of the Crawford County area, the concept of "our family helping your family" has been reflected in the services we offer, in our professional, caring staff, and in our comfortable surroundings. Throughout the years, the families of the community have found our efforts to be of great value in helping them arrange funeral services that are most meaningful and appropriate for those who remain, while incorporating the wishes of the person who has died. That is why we offer services that can be customized and tailored to the wants and desires of each family we serve.
The Robert W. Waid Funeral Home & Waid-Coleman Funeral Homes are proud of our communities, and we believe that we have an ongoing responsibility to enhance the quality of life for its citizens. We know that the funeral itself is just the beginning of the grieving process. Our family can help you navigate through this overwhelming time. We are here to help you in the weeks and months following the funeral.
Our family is involved in organizations dedicated to making Crawford County a better place to live. We support our children in schools, senior citizens in their activities, and those who are in need.
If we can be of assistance to you or your community group, please let us know. We welcome the opportunity to be of service.
