Rose Marie Swisher

Rose Marie Swisher, 91, of Grove City passed away on Monday, January 23, 2024 at Quality Life Services in Mercer.

Rose was born on September 15, 1932 in Fayette County, PA to the late Joseph E. and Margaret (Butcho) Vaslavsky.

Rose was known for her giving spirit; she was often found volunteering at the local food pantry and the historical society.  She had a love for animals and was always donating to various animal societies and rescues. Rose enjoyed traveling, cooking and going to casinos in her free time.  Most of all Rose loved her family and the time she got to spend with them. 

On October 14, 2017 she married her husband, Charles Swisher and he survives at home.

In addition to her husband Rose is survived by her children: W. Kirby (Cheryl Ann) Bence, of Greenville, Karen L. (Patrick Froncek) Greggs, of North Apollo, PA and Kelly A. (Bruce) Hess, of Oviedo, FL; grandchildren: Julie S. Kaltenbaugh, of Southern Pines, NC, Justin L. Bence, of Stoneboro, Jason S. (Laura) Greggs, of Sandy Lake, Tyler W. (Kendra) Anderson, of New Lebanon, Kalynn R. (Alex) Logwood, of Southern Pines, NC Bentley L. Edmonds, of Slippery Rock, Colson S. Greggs, of Sandy Lake, PA; step-grandson: Jacob Hess of Orlando, FL; and a brother, Raymond (Helen) Vaslavsky, of Broken Arrow, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Bence, Charles Semenick, Dr. William C. Menzies and her sisters, Norma J. Lanham and Mary M. Radcliff.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 3236 S. Main Street, SANDY LAKE where family and friends are welcome on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2PM-4PM.  A funeral service will follow at 4PM.
