Martha E. Schaeffer left the world on August 20, 2023 to be with her Lord and her late husband, Allen. Born in Reno, PA on August 28, 1930 to William R. Long, Sr. and Helen E. (McClintock) Long.

Martha leaves behind two sisters: Virginia Snyder of Franklin and Norma Norman of Oil City, brother: Bill Long and wife Carol of Franklin. She also has many nieces and nephews as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great niece and nephew, her cat: Silly, and many area friends.

Along with her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brother: Donald Long and three sisters: Ruth L. Long, Patricia A. Loll, and Willadean R. Cochran.

Martha was known for her crafts, her candy making, and her baking, especially her Christmas Cookies. She loved to shop and enjoyed playing cards with her card club ladies as well as her friends at the Senior Center.

Martha’s family wishes to thank Lisa Sefton and her family for their assistance and special friendship.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 7 pm on Monday, August 28. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 29, at 11 am at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Martha’s name to the McQuiston Senior Center, 29 Railroad Street, Sandy Lake, PA 16145, or the charity of one’s choice.
