Kathleen “Kathy” Anne (McConnell) Moody passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on November 14, 2023.
She was born on October 27, 1957 to parents Charles and Martha (Postance) McConnell in Wickliffe, Ohio where she was raised alongside her sister Sherry and brother Al. In a moment of spontaneity, in the Winter of 1983, Kathy embarked on a new chapter of her life and moved to Florida where she called home for the majority of her adult life. There she met Troy Moody, whom she would later marry and have a son, Chad.
Kathy worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was of the Episcopal Faith and attended church at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In her time in Florida, Kathy developed a love for boating, the outdoors, and the beach. She was also known as an avid board game player, in particular Rummy 500, Scrabble, and most of all Word with Friends. Her heart was also filled with love for her canine companions – Skippy, Raleigh, Bella, Bentley, and Lucky.
Above all, her proudest accomplishment and title was that of “Mom.” Her devotion to being a mother defined her purpose and the love she poured into motherhood will forever be remembered as her greatest accomplishment.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be carried on by her son, Chad Moody, stepdaughter Jessica Moody, siblings Sherry Dougherty and Al McConnell, father of her son Troy Moody, nieces Ashley, Nicole, Rachel, Amanda, Melissa, and great-niece Indigo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, INC. 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
Graveside services and interment will take place at Greendale Cemetery on Monday, November 20, at 11:00 am.
