Jeanette M. Baird

Jeanette M. Baird, 93, of Meadville, died Saturday. November 11, 2023, at Crawford County Care Center.

She was born in Meadville June 17, 1930, a daughter of Milton and Mildred Hewitt Mead. She married Robert “Bob” D. Baird June 24, 1950. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary shortly before his passing in 2010.

A homemaker, she was a 1948 graduate of Conneautville High School. Jeanette enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards in several card groups, bowling, traveling throughout the U.S. and trips to Europe with her husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Jeanette was a member of Emmanuel Community Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Schaffner and husband William of Meadville; 3 sons, David A. Baird and wife Deanna of Virginia, Michael J. Baird and Patricia E. Stewart of Meadville, and Robert T. Baird of Meadville; a sister, Carol Richmond of Linesville; 6 grandchildren, Brian Schaffner and wife Margot, John Schaffner and wife Lindsey, Rochelle Schwarz and husband Kevin, Devin Baird and wife Holly, Kelsey Baird, and Ryan Baird and wife Emily; great-grandchildren, Adelina and Maximilian Schwarz, Malcolm Baird, and Hope Schaffner; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debra S. Baird and 4 brothers, William, Earl, Cyril (Mac), and Gradon (Gale) Mead.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 15 from 2-6 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE where the funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Community Church, 30 Park Ave., Meadville, PA 16335.
