Dennis Charles Cronin

Dennis (Denny) Charles Cronin, 82, of Meadville, passed away suddenly March 22, 2024 from complications from an automobile accident.

He was born December 24, 1941 in Meadville, a son of Charles and Florence Guenther Cronin.  He married Patricia Williams DeVore April 10, 1999 and she preceded him in death February 21, 2017.  He subsequently married Nancy Seely January 5, 2018.

Denny was a 1959 graduate of St. Agatha High School.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving from 1959-1963.  He worked at American Viscose, Talon, and Systematic Tool.

Denny was a member of the Epiphany of The Lord Parish.  He was a life-member and past secretary of Black Ash Sportsman’s Club, avid trap shooter, dog lover, and enjoyed hunting and golfing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Nancy, include six stepchildren, Denise C. DeVore of Erie, Shawn Wentling of Erie, Shawna Dickson (Jeff) of Lawrence Park, Frank Wentling of Erie, Adam Wentling (Kayla) of Girard, and Jay Wentling of Girard; a sister, Carolyn “Kelly” Zur (Marion “Mun”) of Meadville; fifteen step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, and two brothers, Joseph and Norman Cronin.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 2 from 4-7 p.m. at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with a Scripture Prayer service at 6:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Michael Kesicki as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.
