Thomas C. Wescott

Thomas C. Wescott, a lifelong resident of New Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on March 10, 2021. He was 80 years old. Thomas was born on August 31, 1940 to the late Clifford and Helen (Collins) Wescott. Thomas worked for a number of years as the owner and operator of his Trucking Business. He also owned and operated the grocery store in New Lebanon and the Dairy Isle in Jackson Center. He was a very outgoing person and loved conversing with customers in his businesses and stopping to talk to friends for hours. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and going for a ride in his Mustang. He was also a member of Lake Lodge #434 in Sandy Lake, as well as a member of the Shriners and the New Castle Consistory. Thomas was married to his beloved wife, Nancy (Fisher) Wescott, she survives at home. He is also survived by his children; Thomas C. Wescott and wife Dianne of Carlton, Peggy Sue Knapp and husband Charles of Sandy Lake, and Steve C. Wescott and wife Rebecca of Sandy Lake; grandchildren, Chris Bowser, Holly Baker, Tammy Kerr, Danielle Scott, Reid Jacobs, William Knapp, Jonathan Knapp, and Abigail Wescott; great-grandchildren Mason Kerr and Claire Scott, brother Richard Wescott and wife Ruth of Washington State, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Ann Bowser. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. A memorial service will be held at the New Lebanon Community Church on Saturday, March 27, at 12:00 PM.
