Thomas D. Park, Sr.

Thomas D. Park, Sr., 77 of Sandy Lake Twp, Stoneboro, passed away on February 6, 2022 at his home. Tom was born in Hendersonville on December 18, 1944 to the late Thomas F. and Margaret M. (Morrison) Park. He attended Lakeview High School.

 

Tom worked for many years in construction and then at Laubscher Cheese Company and retired in 1997. He then created his own company, T.C. Park Excavating. He enjoyed being self-employed and excavating and did so until his passing. Tom also enjoyed spending mornings at Krystiak Korner drinking coffee, playing the lottery and conversing with friends and those passing by. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a hands-on person. He enjoyed feeding and watching deer in his back yard, then reporting his sightings to his sons every evening. He was a member of Donation Hill Bible Church and Lake Lodge #434, Sandy Lake. Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time with his beloved family.

 

He married his wife, Connie Sue Laubscher, on October 20, 1973, she survives at home. Also surviving are his children; Christine Lynn Park and companion Randy of Sun City, CA, Thomas Duane Park, Jr., and wife Linda “Tink” of Stoneboro, and Chad Everett Park and wife Malia of Stoneboro, grandchildren; Jonathan Sopko, Michael (Leandra) Sopko, Nathan Pompeii, Alyssa Pompeii (Fiancé Jeremy), Joscelyn (Cody) Ebbert, Jaiden Park, and Sydney Park, several great-grandchildren and one more on the way, sister; Gloria Lees, and lifelong friend; Mark Sheatz.

 

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by sisters; Juanita Ohler, Janice Crawley, Doris McAninch, and Priscilla Jenkins, and brother; Ronald Park.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 4 pm – 7 pm on Wednesday, February 9, and from 10 am – 11 am on Thursday, February 10. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 am with the Rev. Glenn Walker. A Masonic Service will take place at 7 pm on Wednesday, February 9.

 

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
