To Rose (My Rosie),
What do you say about a person that impacted your Life so much? Rosie was my good friend, and colleague....I started out as a new Grad on the Mac unit at Greenville Hospital in 1982, and Rosie was my Mentor. She taught me Humility, to have Empathy for my patients, to take the time to sit at their bedside, and listen if only in Silence (not to worry so much about the charting part). When we worked the 3-11 shift, we made sure all our patients had warm back rubs, the rooms were cleaned up, and most importantly that our patients were comfortable before our shift ended!
We worked with the Best of the Best Team on Mac...some have passed on (I hope you All know who you are!!)
We celebrated our annual Xmas party at Rosie's house with her homemade spaghetti as the main course 😋 We also celebrated her Summer weiner roast in her backyard with friends, families, and whomever wanted to come!!
We took trips with friends to Sinnamahoning for a few long weekends staying in the woods in a haunted house, taking long walks, and cooking the spiciest chilli ever.....
Rosie, and I spent time together out West, visiting Jacksonhole, gazing upon the Teton Mts, and exploring the nearby towns, and the breathtaking Rockies!!
We spent alot of time together just talking about how much we loved our kids but didn't always get along with each of them. Rosie cherished her 6 grandchildren and wanted to spend time with all of them!
I would visit Rosie somtimes at her house, and I can still picture her siting in her chair in her dimly lit living room crocheting, mending clothes and knitting...mostly for others, and baby blankets surrounding her to take to the hospital. There was always something delicious cooking in Rosie's kitchen. She was always cooking a meal for someone in need, or who had lost a Loved One!
Rosie was selfless....she was always doing for others! She was a Great Humanitarian!
I trully Believe that Rosie was an Angel 😇 here on Earth, and has a key to the Kingdom of Heaven!! I'm so Grateful to have known Rosie, and I Believe I will see her again someday ❤ 🙏 Love you my Forever Friend, Kathy (Katie AK)
PS. She was an Artist too...I have some of her sketches, and watercolor paintings with me Always!
