Robert Dale Beggs

Robert “Bob” Dale Beggs, 60, of Lake Twp, Stoneboro, passed away on October 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Grove City on January 20, 1960 to John T. and Doris (Proper) Beggs. Bob was a 1977 graduate of Lakeview High School. After graduation he went on to work for Werner, Co., for 42 years as a product designer. Within in the company he was well respected for his knowledge on products. He had many patents in his name for products and accessories. He was known for his ability to tear anything apart and fix it, both at work and at home. Bob as a member of Oak Grove Church, where he served on the building committee for church projects. In his free time Bob loved to go camping with his family, they would often go to Tionesta, Shenango and several State Parks. He enjoyed playing board games, he and Sally spent many evenings playing Yahtzee. Bob loved his cat, Moses. His favorite past time of all was spending time with his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren. Bob married his beloved wife, Sally Jane (Rose) Beggs on November 7, 1981, she survives at home. Bob is also survived by his mother, Doris Beggs; his children, Dr. Gregory A. Beggs (Katee), of Bryn Mawr, PA, and Tina F. Hoobler (Evan) of Stoneboro; four grandchildren, Cole Ryan Beggs, Quinn Harper Beggs, Brooke Ashley Hoobler and Blake Philip Hoobler; two brothers, Richard Beggs (Carol), of Sandy Lake and Ronald Beggs (Debbie) of Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Janet Surrena (David) of Fombell, PA; two brothers-in-law, Gary Rose (Shelly), of Fredonia and William Rose (Carrie), of Greenville; his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Donna Rose, of Fredonia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Beggs. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes of Stoneboro and Sandy Lake. Visitation will be held at the Oak Grove Church, 10 Oak Grove Road, Mercer, PA where family and friends are welcome on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Randy Ritchey, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Oak Grove Building Committee, 10 Oak Grove Road, Mercer, PA 16137.
