Katherine J. "Kate" Kuhns

Katherine J. “Kate” Kuhns, 84 of Jackson Center, passed away in her home on August 14, 2019. Kate was born on August 1, 1935 in Forestville to the late Kenneth and Evelyn Shoffstall Hickok. She was a graduate of Grove City High School. Kate married her beloved husband, John C. “Curt” Kuhns on May 18, 1957, he preceded her in death on October 13, 2000. Kate worked for many years at Lakeview High School Cafeteria and loved her job. She was a member of Jackson Center Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon. She also enjoyed playing cards with her card club in earlier years as well as quilting. Kate also loved yardwork and always made sure her yard was in good condition. Kate is survived by her daughter, Sharon Rickert and husband Kevin of Portland, TN, grandchildren Ryan Rickert and wife Heather, Bradley Rickert and companion Kathryn, and Evan Rickert and wife Jami, great-grandchildren Kaylie, Kirin, Navaeh, William, Ava, Elias, five sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro and Sandy Lake. Funeral services will be private as per Kate’s wishes.
