Jean Walker Kaltenbaugh

Jean Walker Kaltenbaugh, 97 of Sandy Lake, passed away on July 7, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian. Jean was born in Sandy Lake on May 5, 1924 to the late Ralph C. and Lyda (Nicklin) Walker. She was a graduate of Sandy Lake High School. Jean married her beloved husband, Robert A. Kaltenbaugh on June 27, 1946, he preceded her in death on October 7, 2013. Jean worked for a few years at the family business, Walker Chevrolet, then was a homemaker for her family. In her earlier years Jean was active in many aspects of the Sandy Lake and Lakeview Community. She was a lifetime member of the Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church and involved in many different roles over the years. She enjoyed traveling, having visited 49 states and many foreign countries. She enjoyed playing many various games, especially phase-10 with her game group. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Jean is survived by her children, Robert Kaltenbaugh and wife Cathy, Ray Kaltenbaugh and wife Susan, and Susan Auerbach and husband Gary, all of Sandy Lake, grandchildren, Shawn (Dawn) Proper, Chad (Tina) Proper, Linnie (Rick) Reither, Michele (Jason) Mumford, Lisa (Brian) Janssen, Mark (Nina) Kaltenbaugh, Jennifer Auerbach, and Joshua Auerbach, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, sister Joan Kaltenbaugh and husband Charles, sister-in-law Judy Walker, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her grandson Jacob Auerbach, and brother William Walker. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home of SANDY LAKE, 3236 S. Main Street, where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm on Sunday, July 11, and from 10-11 am on Monday, July 12 at the Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church, 3096 Sandy Lake-Grove City Road. A funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
