Jean Buckley

Jean Buckley, 82, of Wolf Creek Twp, Grove City, passed away, surrounded by her family, October 29, 2019 at Butler Memorial Hospital. Jean was born April 2, 1937 to the late Howard S. and Della M. (Bruner) Walker. She was a graduate of Grove City High School and also attended Mercer High School. After high school, Jean worked for the Grove City National Bank. She married her beloved husband, William “Bill” Buckley, on September 15, 1956; he survives. Jean and Bill owned and operated Buckley Farm on Scrubgrass Road together and were still baling hay together this summer. She was a very hard worker and loved taking care of the farm and family. She was known for her cooking skills and preparing the food for any family function. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bowling, and playing cards once a month with friends. She also volunteered at All Good Things Thrift Shop in Grove City. Jean was a longtime member of Millbrook Presbyterian Church, being active in many aspects of the church over the years, most recently as an Elder. In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her children, Sue Paxton (Joe), Jeff Buckley, Jennifer Davis (Sam), all of Grove City, and Janice Kay (Jon), Morehead, NC; grandchildren Scott Paxton (Renee), Jennifer Saeler (Marc), Ryan Paxton (Jacqui), Bill Davis (Tera), Kathleen Davis, Alexis Kay, and Riley Kay; great-grandchildren Makenna and Kaylin Saeler, Calvin, Landon, Nolan, Ensley, and Brooklyn Paxton, and Jonah and Wesley Davis, and brother Glenn Walker, Wellington, OH. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a sister Hazel Millard, and a brother, Clair Walker. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 & 7-9 on Sunday, Nov. 3. Additional visitation will be on Monday at the Millbrook Presbyterian Church, 1232 Millbrook Road, from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am with the Rev. Evelyn Beebe, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Union Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Millbrook Presbyterian Church or All Good Things Thrift Shoppe.
