Esther Elizabeth Tenney

Esther Elizabeth Tenney, 99, of Sandy Lake, passed away Friday August 30, 2019 at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville. She was born in McKeesport on February 20, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Henry and Dora Lee Hoffman. She was a graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School. Esther worked for a number of years at Polk State Center as an LPN and retired from there. She attended the Oak Grove Church. Surviving is a son Lewis B. Tenney and his wife Freda of Meadville; a grandson, Brenton M. Tenney and his wife Bonnie of Meadville and a great-granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Potts and her husband Robert of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne V. Tenney on June 29, 1991; three sisters, Florence Beggs, Mildred Vogan and infant sister, Marjorie; two brothers, Ward Hoffman and Paul Hoffman. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Black Funeral Home, 3236 S. Main St. Sandy Lake, PA 16145 where family and friends are welcome from 2:00 -4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Randy Ritchey, Pastor of Oak Grove Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
