Doris L. Beggs

Doris L. Beggs, 87 of Sandy Lake, went home to be with the lord on April 2, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Cooperstown on January 12, 1934 to the late Harold and Cora Proper. She was the youngest of seven children. She married her beloved husband, John T. Beggs on September 10, 1955, he preceded her in death on August 25, 2012. Doris was a homemaker raising her boys and a member of the New Lebanon Community Church. She enjoyed camping and pulling their Scotty Travel Trailer all across the United States. She also loved shopping and watching hummingbirds. She is survived by her sons; Richard (Carolyn) Beggs of Sandy Lake, and Ronald (Debby) Beggs of Pitcairn, daughter-in-laws, Sally Beggs and Tammy Beggs, both of Sandy Lake, sister-in-law Nancy Beggs, Sandy Lake, grandchildren; Pastor Bradley (Amanda) Beggs of Sewickley, Brittany Beggs of Ben Avon, Dr. Gregory (Katee) Beggs of Bryn Mawr, Tina (Evan) Hoobler of Stoneboro, and Abby and Allison Beggs of Sandy Lake, eight great grandchildren, and dear friend, Jean Heckman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and son Robert Beggs, brother-in-law Homer Beggs, and all her siblings. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. A graveside service will take place on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2 pm at the Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel with her grandson, Pastor Bradley Beggs, Officiating.
