Cheryl Rager Obituary

Cheryl L. Rager, 64 of Sharpsville, passed away on September 29, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Cheryl was born in Greensburg, PA on January 12, 1957 to Rose M. (Young) Rager and the late Donald G. Rager Sr. Cheryl was a very talented cook and used her skills as a cook at Carini’s Restaurant. She then worked at Werner Ladder in Greenville as a manufacturer and a first responder at the plant. She then was a Postal Carrier for USPS in Mercer. She then worked at the 911 Dispatch Center as a Dispatcher/Supervisor before retiring. During her years of employment, she was also an EMT and firefighter for Sheakleyville Volunteer Fire Department. Cheryl was very talented with crochet and knitting, making blankets, purses, pillows, hats, and many other items for friends and family. She was an animal lover, especially enjoying red-tail hawks, and her dogs Riley, Willa, and Maddie, and her cat TC. She was a “flower child” and enjoyed gardening and growing herbs. She loved snow and eagerly awaited the season change each year. She enjoyed traveling to many locations across the Country. She was also a TV star on an episode of Ricky & Copper in the early 1960’s. In addition to her mother, Cheryl is survived by her siblings, Donna “Dino” (Walter) Fetty of Sandy Lake, Donald “Dutch” (Patricia) Rager Jr. of Stoneboro, Beatrice “Lori” (Dan) Morsillo of Wheatland, and Karen (Walter) Brodie of Farrell, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. In addition to her father, Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister Rhoda Rager Pé, significant other Carey Parrish, passing away on September 27, 2021, and nephew Donnie Murdock, and niece Amber Rose. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 1 pm – 2pm on Tuesday, October 5. A funeral service will follow visitation at 2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hadley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cheryl's name to Strayhaven in Greenville, or to the American Cancer Society.
