Cecil Bevan Obituary

Cecil M. “Charlie” Bevan, also known as “JC Fatz”, 84 of Jackson Center, passed away at 7:48 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian. Charlie was born on August 20, 1933 in Media, PA to the late Cecil Allan and Mabel Mayetta Miles Bevan. Charlie proudly served his Country in the United States Navy, joining in April of 1952 and being honorably discharged in April 1956. During his time in the Navy Charlie spent 3 years and 6 months on the Destroyer USS Putnam DD-757. He worked for GE from 1956 until he retired in 1983. Charlie married his beloved wife, Sondra S. Hubenthal in March of 1968, she preceded him in death after a short illness on May 26, 2014, having shared over 46 years together. Charlie was an avid pool player since he was 15 years old. He played in several leagues for over 20–some years, which coined his name “JC Fatz”. He was an animal lover, especially for his cat and his dog, also named Charlie. Charlie is survived by his daughters Tammy (Jerry) Blair, Grove City, and Barbara Bevan, Milton, PA, and one son Jeffrey A. (Robin) Bevan, Stoneboro, four grandsons and three granddaughters, and two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. In addition his wife and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Kurt Davies. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Scott A. Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro, PA There will be no public visitation as per Charlie’s wishes. Memorials may be made in Charlie’s name to Strayhaven, Inc. Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Road, Greenville, PA 16125.
