Alana Briggs Obituary

Alana R. Briggs, 71 of Clarks Mills, passed away on March 11, 2021 at her home. She was born in Greenville on July 22, 1949 to the late Malcolm D. and Thelma M. (Puaa) Marshall. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School and worked for many years as a supervisor at Ivex. Alana loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was not only their mother and grandmother, she was a friend and a confidant. She was very outgoing and was easy to talk to. She also enjoyed Bingo, yard work, gardening, and spending time at Lake Wilhelm. She is survived by her children; Tracy Baptiste and husband Josh Mazon of Clarks Mills, Troy Briggs and wife Anita of Mercer, and Theresa Briggs and husband Leroy Trauterman of Franklin; grandchildren, Chad Baptiste and wife Andrea Kreutzer of Brookfield, OH, Gregory Baptiste and wife Marissa of Kinsman, OH, Kyle Baptiste of Fredonia, Dalton Briggs of Mercer, Samantha Briggs of Mercer, Tanarae Long of Rocky Grove, Trenton Long of Franklin, Destanie Trauterman of Franklin, Paulina Cameron of Stoneboro, and Ashley Moury of Stoneboro; six great-grandchildren; siblings Tina Baum and husband Bruce Garner of Lewistown, PA, and Malcom D. Marshall Jr. and wife Patty of Stoneboro, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alana was preceded in death by her companion of over 18 years, John Hand, and siblings Thomas Marshall, Paula Marshall, and Ella Sealand-Freet. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. There will be no public services as per Alana’s wishes.
